Lift Off Covers Hybrid Solution

Overview EJ were approached with a unique challenge: to design and provide a custom fabricated solution for a critical infrastructure site. The project involved creating an 8.6-metre by 2.6-metre access solution, comprising 17 individual components. This included 10 Hinged, Stainless Steel Torsion Lift Assist Covers and 7 Lift Off Covers, featuring open mesh and ladder extension safety grids. Our goal was to fabricate a solution that offered both functionality and easy accessibility while maintaining safety and compliance with operational needs. The project was driven by our commitment to making the challenge possible, incorporating design needs with effective collaboration.
We began by designing a bespoke solution that addressed the client’s needs. The 17-part system was designed to ensure ease of access, durability, and safety for ongoingoperations. The open mesh panels provided airflow and visibility while maintaining safety and the ladder extension grills facilitated safe access points. The 6.2 tonne multi-part system created further challenges during the logistical stage of the project. Careful planning ensured that the 17 part solution was successfully fabricated inhouse and safely delivered to the client’s chosen location. Coordination with the contractor guaranteed an efficient installation and eliminated disruptions.
