Overview
On this project, our client approached us with a specific need: they had a small pumping station on a private road with access covers that required an upgrade. The primary goals were to incorporate safety features as well as to supply covers that are easier to handle by a single operator.
Project Summary
Based on the needs of this project, we provided hinged D400 rated covers equipped with retro-fit safety grids, designed to withstand constant traffic and included updated safety precautions for on-site operators.
The old covers were meticulously removed, and in their place, installed were new EJ quality covers from our Unrivalled Range of Access Solutions, prepared to meet all the demands of this heavily trafficked location. To enhance the overall aesthetics and functionality, a new hot lay tarmac surround was added post-installation.
A standout feature of these new covers is the assisted opening and hinged design that allows for single-person operation, ensuring ease of use and reduction in manual handling complications. Furthermore, the integrated safety grids not only offer fall protection when the covers are open, but also guarantee safety during pump maintenance or removal.
Through a blend of precise assessment, tailored design, and careful installation, EJ successfully worked with this client to revamp the pumping station covers, meeting the client's specifications while as always prioritising safety, the core of our business.
