OPTION 2 : ACCESS SOLUTIONS FOR WATER NETWORKS Guidance on conformance to Uisce Éireann Quality Alert for Access Covers in Pump Stations
To address knowledge gaps and to deal with requests from Project Designers and Contractors, we have prepared a workshop on specifying and approving compliant access solutions per UE’s technical documents – TEC 300 and TEC 600 – for higher security critical sites.
Topics discussed :
- How compliance with EN 124-3:2015 (for openings up to 1m x 1m) and BS 9124 (for openings over 1m x 1m) optimizes safety and accessibility for steel access covers.
- Key safety improvements in EN 124-3:2015 including Unpolished Skid Resistant Values (USRV), Polished Slip Resistance Values (PSRV) and Mandatory markings required for compliance.
- Why requesting Drop Test and Load Test Reports from manufacturers ensures operator and public safety post installation.
- Requesting independent, third-party certification for BS 9124 and EN 124-3:2015 – to mitigate against variances in quality and performance and to guarantee a high factor of safety for O & M teams.
- LPCB accredited, Security Rated 3 & 4 access covers and vent caps in line with UE TEC 600 specification.
- Product innovations and composite access solutions for resilient, sustainable asset protection
